Recycled Parts - an environmental success story

There's plenty of talk about what the automotive industry can do to protect our environment, but let's not forget that the simple practice of using recycled parts wherever possibly when making repairs can make a big difference - in many ways.

The most recycled man-made product in the world

We generally think of motor vehicles as having a negative impact on our environment, but on the positive side is the fact that the automobile is one of the most repaired, re-used and recycled man-made products in the world. Almost every 'end of life' car now ends up at an automotive recycling facility rather than in landfills, compared with only 60% of aluminium cans, 30% of paper products and 20% of glass products. Imagine the amount of landfill space that would be required if auto recyclers did not exist!

Simply good sense

If the purest form of recycling is re-use, then auto recyclers are pioneers in 'environmentally friendly' thinking. It is simply good sense, no matter what age a vehicle is, to replace a damaged part with a perfectly acceptable recycled part off a similar model vehicle that has, for some reason reached the end of its useful life.

Doing something positive

Consider this... every year throughout the world, over 11 million vehicles are recycled as re-useable parts. That means that every time you source a recycled part, you're not only saving money, you're also doing something positive to help save the world's resources and protect our environment.

So do the right thing and specify recycled parts wherever possible.
It can make a world of difference.
